Common Questions

Before You Install

How long does a septic install take?

A typical residential install is 3 to 7 days on site once the permit is in hand. Big systems or complex sites take longer. Permit timing varies by Shasta County workload.

Do you handle the Shasta County permits?

Yes. We pull EHD permits and coordinate the inspections. You don't have to chase paperwork.

Can you finance the install?

Yes, through HFS Financial. Loans up to $450,000 with fixed rates from 7.8% APR and no home equity required. See the financing page for details.

Does my site need a lot of prep work?

Depends on the lot. Ray Excavating (our sister company) handles grading, trenching, and earthwork as part of the install when needed. One bill, one crew.

Do I need a percolation test?

For new installs in Shasta County, usually yes. We coordinate the perc test as part of the design phase before pulling permits.

What kind of system will I get?

Depends on your soil, lot size, and household. Most residential systems are conventional gravity drain fields. Tight soil or small lots sometimes need engineered or pressurized systems.
